Hedgehogs

Hedgehogs are mammals  and they are nocturnal.

Hedgehogs are covered in sharp spines. They have up to seven thousand sharp spines. They have corse grey and brown  fur on their bellies.
They eat, beetles, caterpillars, earthworms, slugs and  snails.

These mammals move by walking and crawling.

Hedgehogs build nests under piles of leaves and branches  in compost heaps under bushes and they build nests in the grass.

Hedgehogs live for about 2 years in the wild and up to 14  years in a Hedgehog friendly garden. Baby Hedgehogs are called hoglets  and is born in litters like cats and dogs.

Hedgehogs hibernates in the cold winter months.

This term we are learning how to write a report.We have learned that a report is a true story that has lots of facts.This is my report on hedgehogs.


Hedgehogs

A hedgehog is mammal and is also nocturnal.                              

Hedgehogs are covered  in about 700,0 spikes with  grey and brown belly fur. The mammal weighs up to 1.5 kg

Hedgehogs eat beetles,slugs,snails,caterpillars,eggs and chicks.

Hedgehogs use their strong feet to crawl   around.

Hedgehogs build nests long grass,under bushes,under leaves and branches,under buildings and in hedges.

The mammal lives only for 2 years in the wild but in a hedgehog friendly garden it can live up to 14 years.

The hedgehog hibernates during the cold  winter months.

Hedgehogs walk and crawl by using their strong legs.

Hedgehogs live anywhere such as hedges,branches,grass,compost bin and under piles of leaves.

Hedgehogs last up to two years in the wild and fourteen in a friendly garden.Baby hedgehogs are called hoglets.

Hedgehogs hibernate in the winter.
